Refreshing my memory ...
Oh my goodness, it seems like yesterday, but it was really in July 2021 that I first put pictures of this beauty on my Instagram. In reality, Andrea got her quilt back in early June 2021.
I love this quilt! (Which you will hear me say about almost every single quilt that comes through my studio!). Andrea contacted me to quilt this sweet baby quilt for her. I believe it was her first quilt! This quilt was a gift for a friend of hers that just had a baby girl. Aren't these low volume colors just perfect? Andrea used the Atlantic Quilt Pattern by Vacilando Studios. This pattern is available as a digital download on Vacilando Studio's Etsy store. There are lots of instructions and is very beginner friendly.
I used cream Glide Thread for both the top and the bottom. The top had a 40 wt thread, and the back a 60 wt thread. We used the Geometric Diamonds pantograph for this quilt, and it turned out wonderful. I love how a solid back can showcase the quilting design.
I believe that Andrea used Art Gallery fabrics in this quilt. All I remember is that they were soft and had the tiniest little prints to give interest to the fabric. The binding was attached to the front, and Andrea hand stitched it to the back.
I have come a long way in photographing the quilts leaving my studio. Direct sunlight is not always the best option. The hour before dusk is called the golden hour for a reason!
